Snorkeling Activity Guide
Kijubi Under the SeaSome people think you have to get on a space ship to visit another world, but there’s a universe to explore just beneath the ocean’s surface. Forget about cartoons about mermaids and sponges, the ocean is the cradle of life on planet earth. Home to a brilliant display of life and color, you can visit this world with only a mask, snorkel, and flippers. The ocean is home to some of the finest diving in the world, and enthusiasts flock to and enjoy.
Like the land, the ocean is home to many different
eco-systems and climates. Part of what makes diving so special, is the abundance of Kelp. This thick and vine like plant grows from the sea floor to the water’s surface, creating forests which sustain fish and other sea creatures.
Kelp forests
are like undersea jungles that can grow at the staggering rate of several feet a day under ideal conditions. Many of the products we use every day are made from kelp, such as tooth paste and conditioner.  Amongst the kelp blades you can swim with seals, sea lions, and of course fishies!
Why People Love SnorkelingSnorkeling is a brilliant way to blend into the water and become one with the sea. Once you get comfortable, your heart rate will naturally slow, allowing you to hold your breath with ease and dive below to explore. Using a mask is easy and takes little getting used to. Without cumbersome dive gear you will feel free and learn to glide gracefully through the water. A great way to get to and from dive spots is on a kayak. Paddling with a partner and take turns hopping off the boat and into the blue. It’s easy to spot the colorful fish that inhabit the mysterious sea. How about a bass or stingray? They’re all there to be uncovered.
