Activity Details - The inside scoop
Your exclusive, private tour led by a Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) starts before the Tower of London opens to the general public, ensuring you will escape the crowds! The conveyor belt used to carry visitors past the jewels will be switched off, so you can examine the Royal ceremonial objects in your own time. After half an hour in the Jewel House you will be served a light breakfast and are then free to enjoy the rest of the Tower of London at your leisure.
Your tour commences with an introduction to the Tower of London by a Yeoman Warder, who will guide you to the Tower's most infamous sites, including Traitors Gate and the Execution Site. Don't forget to ask questions and bring your camera!
You will then enter the Jewel House and have approximately half an hour to view the magnificent Crown Jewels. The Jewel House Wardens will be on on hand to share their wealth of knowledge of the treasury, which includes the Imperial State Crown with its 2,868 diamonds, 273 pearls, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds and 5 rubies, as well as the crests or seals of all the monarchs of Britain from William the Conqueror to the present Queen.
After an unforgettable experience you will move into the New Armouries Suite and enjoy a light breakfast of hot and cold beverages, pastries, muffins and fresh fruit.
Group sizes for the Private Viewing of the Crown Jewels Tour are strictly limited to 30 people so you are guaranteed a personal, memorable and unique visit to the Tower of London!
