The olive tree has been an important staple of the Tuscany region since the middle ages, when the first rules concerning oil production were established. On this tour you'll discover the different types of Tuscan olive oil, including frantoio, leccino and moraiolo. You will also discover the importance of balsamic vinegar in Tuscan and contemporary cuisine. Used to add a sweet tang to salad dressings, sauces and marinades, it's a favorite condiment of professional chefs the world over.
The tour includes a tasting of four different Tuscan olive oils, four types of balsamic vinegar from Modena, two types of mustard balsamic vinegar, and a selection of cheeses served with bread and crackers
