Operation
This tour is available 7 days a week. Departure time depends on the sunset, but during the summer we go out around 6:30pm. Your confirmed tour time will be indicated on your E-Ticket upon completing the reservation.

Sunset Kayak Tour in La Jolla
Paddle from La Jolla Shores into the sunset. Tour the sea caves and enjoy the evening beauty from the water. We paddle stable, open-top (also called sit-on-top) single and double kayaks.

What to Expect
Be prepared to get wet! After checking in at our shop, we will outfit you with a life jacket and wetsuit, if desired. Your guide will then walk with you down to the beach at the end of the street where your kayaks and paddles will be waiting. Wildlife sightings are very common, but not guaranteed.

What to Bring
Bring a towel and dry clothes for after your tour, which you can either leave in the lockers in our shop or in your vehicle.

Cancellation Policy, E-Ticket, and Other Information

You may cancel your reservation and receive a full refund, less a 9.9% service fee to cover administrative costs and credit card fees, with a minimum of 48 hours advance notice. This reservation is non-cancelable and non-refundable any time within 48 hours of the event date and time. For groups of 6 or more, 72 hours cancellation notice is required.

NOTE: Minimum 2 participants per tour. Please do not bring valuables and things that cannot get wet like cell phones, pagers, car keys, non-waterproof watches, non-waterproof cameras, etc. Departure time depends on the sunset, but during the summer we go out around 6:30pm. Our sunset kayak in La Jolla was great! I wish we were told of the high surf at least a little bit beforehand so we were prepared. We didn't get to see any of the caves nor much of the wildlife (only sea lions from very far away). Overall it was a good experience for first timers like us, but I would definitely check the weather and surf before I book again. Cal Active is a great website and I have recommended it to others already!
