Snorkel and Kayak Tour in La Jolla
This 2 1/2 hour tour features kayaking, snorkeling, and an amateur naturalist guide to lead you by the gorgeous La Jolla Caves, where we often see seals, sea lions, and occasionally dolphins. The leopard sharks (Triakis Semifasciata) that come each summer to the shallow waters near La Jolla are absolutely harmless. We kayak over to where the sharks hang out and watch these gorgeous creatures by snorkeling on top of the shallow waters. While there is no mistaking their shark-shaped bodies, these 3 to 7 foot long creatures are harmless to man, preferring to feed on small fish and invertebrates.
A Great Group Activity
These tours are perfect for the whole family. Reserve early because this combo tour fills up quickly! Available from May thru October.
Our Kayaks
We paddle stable, open-top (also called sit-on-top) single and tandem (double) kayaks.
What to Expect
Be prepared to get wet! We launch into waves from the end of our street.
Where to Meet
Meet at our La Jolla location, where you will check in, sign waivers, etc. We will outfit you with a life jacket, paddle and wetsuit (if desired). After a brief paddle instruction and safety talk, you will walk down to the end of the street with your guide.
What to Bring
Bring a towel and dry clothes, which you can leave at our location or in your vehicle.
