An Unforgettable Aquatic Adventure
Our kayak tour in Laguna Beach, Southern California is the absolute best way to see Laguna Beach and its breathtaking coastline. You’ll glide past crescent-shaped beaches, remote coves, dramatic sea cliffs, caves, million dollar homes, and see lots of wildlife along the way including birds, fish, and our famous sea lions.
If conditions allow it, you may have the opportunity travel across shallow reefs and tide pools where you are likely to see garibaldi, starfish, anemones, and sea urchins. With fortunate timing, you may even see dolphins or whales. It’s a beautiful and healthy way to see the coastline of Laguna, where the mountains cascade to the sea.
Feel the Motion of the Ocean
Ocean kayaking in California is a wonderful way to experience the mighty Pacific. The seas are generally calm as Catalina Island serves as a barrier to the open ocean. The gentle glide is quiet and serene (no engine noise or smell of gas), the sea air invigorating, the briny smell intoxicating, and the open vistas, cloud formations and colors are simply magnificent. A great way to experience the ocean without having technical abilities.
Magical Seal Rock
The highlight of the tour is a visit to Seal Rock, a nature sanctuary that is home to a colony of California Sea Lions. You will get within 10 feet of these remarkable animals in their native habitat. You’ll see babies and pups, and bull males weighing up to 1000 pounds. If the conditions are right, you’ll even get to snorkel with them.
Fun For All Ages and Experience Levels
No experience required for this kayak tour. It’s a leisurely 2-hour paddle that begins with a lesson on the beach. You’ll be in spacious Ocean Kayak Malibu sit-on-top tandem kayaks with life jackets and comfortable seat backs. Kids 8 and up can paddle in the front if accompanied by an adult. Kids under 8 can ride as a 3rd passenger. The only requirement is that they are comfortable on the water and can sit still for an extended period. But don’t worry, many kids fall asleep to the gentle glide motion of the ocean. The expert guides are there to help you launch, land, and learn about the Pacific and the California coastline.
